Workout your brain… Learn to Play
Learning an instrument engages both hemispheres of a child’s brain, allowing them to strengthen and form new connections. In other words, it’s a total brain workout–exercising the visual, auditory, and motor cortices. And as children learn and practice, the skills acquired while playing–discipline, collaboration, problem-solving, memory, organization, concentration, and many others–can be applied to other activities.

Ted Talk Video
When you listen to music, multiple areas of your brain become engaged and active. But when you actually play an instrument, that activity becomes more like a full-body brain workout. What’s going on? Educator Anita Collins explains the fireworks that go off in musicians’ brains when they play and examines some of the long-term positive effects of this mental workout.
Enrollment is Open for Fall – Sessions Starting in September
